ART RECEPTION AT THE NAPA CITY-COUNTY LIBRARY

The public is invited to attend an artist reception on Friday, September 5 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Community Meeting Room at the Napa City-County Library. On opening night of the "LIBRI: Photographs of Books" exhibition, Los Angeles artist David Orr will discuss his process and inspiration as it relates to this new series. An audience Q+A will follow the talk. Seating is limited. For reservations please call 707-253-4235.

GARDENING FOR THE BUSY PERSON

The UCCE Master Gardeners of Napa County would like to invite the community to join them for a free public workshop, "Gardening for the Busy Person." This workshop will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2008, 9:30 a.m. 11:30 a.m. in American Canyon at Donaldson Way Elementary School, 430 Donaldson Way. This same workshop will be held in Napa on Saturday, September 20, 2008, 9:30 a.m. 11:30 a.m. at the UC Cooperative Extension Meeting Room, 1710 Soscol Avenue.

Would you love to have a garden but don't have much time? Is the garden you have taking up way too much of your precious time? Learn how you can have a garden that is fun, manageable, and that works for you and your life. This class will include information about low-maintenance gardens, small gardens, and time-saving approaches.

HEARING LOSS ASSOCIATION OF NAPA VALLEY

The September meeting will be Wednesday, the 17th, 1:00 PM at the Senior Activities Center, 1500 Jefferson Street, Napa. Karen Givogri will talk about the risks and rewards of cochlear implant surgery and about the decisions she faced that lead to her restoration as an effective member of her family. A cochlear implant involves the threading of tiny electronic leads into the cochlea of the inner ear. A failure within the cochlea is commonly described by doctors as "nerve deafness." Hearing Loss Association of Napa Valley is an education and consumer oriented mutual support group. It consists of hard of hearing people who are committed to active participation in this hearing world. All interested persons are welcome to attend meetings. There is no charge


ANNUAL HOLIDAY ANGEL BAZAAR

St. Apollinaris Catholic Church, Office of Religious Education, is sponsoring our 14th annual CRAFT FAIR & SWEET SHOPPE, Saturday, November 8th, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 9, 8:00 am. to 3:00 p.m. This event will be held in the Church Hall at 3700 Lassen Street, Napa, CA and will feature handcrafted gifts, sold by the artists. There will be FOLK ART, JEWELRY, STAINED GLASS, COUNTRY COLLECTIBLES, FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS, CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS, HOLIDAY DECORATIONS, AND ORIGINAL ANGEL ARTISTRY. We have an awesome list of "RAFFLE" prizes and tickets will be available during the BAZAAR. All funds raised during this event will be used to further the religious education of our Parish children.
